Two Birmingham-area members of Congress are taking different stances on authorizing military action in Syria. Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-Vestavia) sent a letter to President Obama, saying the case for military action has not been made. Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham) is undecided, but has made comments that indicated support for using force. "We cannot sit idly by and let their reprehensible actions go without punishment," she said in a statement last week. "We must act with clear and strategic action."
